Hello again, my name is Ryan LeBlanc.

I’m here today to talk to you about how thermal imaging can help identify possible issues before they become problems inside of your drive cabinet. So, something similar to a simple FLIR gun or a thermal camera attachment for your phone can help identify those hotspots inside the drive cabinet before anything gets burned up or fails.

It could be something as simple as a loose power connection that just needs to be snugged up and re-torqued. It could be signs of wear or uneven heating and cooling inside of the chassis. It could even extend out to your field devices such as your motor and things on your pump skids. It’s a very handy tool to have in any technician’s toolbox. The cost of the FLIR gun, I think, is outweighed by the savings that it can help protect against by finding potential problems before they become equipment failures, and you’re down for a long time on repairs due to burned up power leads, a burned up motor or burned up pump — things like that.

It is always highly recommended that during hot seasons or times of abnormal weather, you go in and try to get some form of thermal reading and then try to compare it to your normal.

In that way, you have something to compare them against and see if you have any potential issues.

So, I hope this has helped again. We hope to see you soon.
