Protecting Your Motor from the Output of Your Variable Frequency Drive

It is common when using a variable frequency drive on your motor to run into issues that could potentially harm your motor. There are two common issues that you can run into. The first is called reflected wave phenomenon, and the second is called bearing fluting and is caused by something known as common-mode voltage or common-mode currents.

In his most recent Two-Minute Drives video, SPOC VP Ted Wilke talks about these phenomena and effective ways to protect your assets from their negative effects.

It’s an insightful two-minutes, so we encourage you to check it out as it might save you several major headaches.

Until we see you in the field again, be safe!
