A high-tech company in the power technologies space is expanding its manufacturing facilities in the metro area.
SPOC Automation is planning an expansion that nearly doubles its space. SPOC is a family of technology companies specializing in power conversion electronics, solving problems in multiple industries, from oil and gas, on-site power and critical power.
The 80,000-square-foot expansion allows for 150,000 square feet of manufacturing space while also enabling SPOC to increase its workforce. From a team of 67 employees in 2020, the company has rapidly expanded to 180 employees this year and is projected to reach 300 employees by the end of 2023.LEARN MORE

With a portfolio of nine buildings, SPOC’s investment in more than $20 million in real estate, equipment and other resources, according to a release.
The company acquired a warehouse near its headquarters for $4.7 million in April from Chase Bays, which is relocating its facilities to Sloss Docks.
SPOC has been recognized as one of Inc. Magazine's Best Places to Work in America for 2020, secured its position as one of Business Alabama Magazine's Best Companies to Work for in the state and made Birmingham Business Journal's list of Birmingham's Best Places to Work in 2014, 2016, 2021 and 2022.
