SPOC Welcomes Dennis Martin as New Mid-Continent Sales Manager

SPOC’s New Mid-Continent Sales Manager, Dennis Martin, Brings Knowledge, Experience, and Above All, a Desire to Help His Customers Succeed.

Dennis Martin says he’s long been “impressed with the breadth of product and service offerings SPOC brings to the marketplace.” That alone made him a big fan of the company.

But what got Dennis to accept an offer to work for SPOC, he says, “was seeing just how much of a team-oriented, client-focused organization the company is. From Bobby Mason [SPOC president and CEO] through to the assembly team, as well as service, sales, engineering, they all work together so well, with one goal in mind—the customers.”

After a career in the oil and gas industry that has spanned more than 25 years, Dennis brings a wealth of experience and know-how as SPOC’s new Mid-Continent sales manager. From stints in Southern California to the Bakken, as well as work that has taken him to regions around the world, Dennis has made a name for himself based on what he says is his most important skill—that of listening.

“When it comes to my customers,” he says, “my goal has always been not to necessarily sell them anything, but to become a project partner with them. My goal is to help my customers achieve their goals.”

“It’s that kind of integrity that we look for in people who work with us,” says Ted Wilke, SPOC vice president. “And Dennis brings an abundance of that with him, as well as so much more—experience, intelligence, and an understanding of the oil and gas business generally, as well as automation, specifically.

“Dennis understands international markets,” Ted continues, “and he’s sold at the field and operations level, as well as worked with executives at some of the world’s largest producers. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Having grown up in Kansas and attended Wichita State University, Dennis now has family in California and Washington state with whom he remains close, despite the distance from where he lives just north of Dallas. Travel, though, is a passion of his, and he says he considers himself lucky to have worked in such a dynamic industry and one that has provided the opportunity to meet and learn from people around the world.

However, he marvels that no matter the huge geographic footprint of the oil and gas business, he’s constantly reminded of the closeness of those who work in it. “It never ceases to amaze me,” he says, “just how small a family it is. I like that and consider it such a blessing. I don’t just have customers and business associates in this business, I have many, many friends.”

Now, he says, he has a new reason to stay in touch—the offerings from SPOC. “Again, I'm so impressed with the quality of what SPOC brings to the table. Another thing that really excites me about SPOC is that they're small enough to be a true partner with their clients, but also big enough to do the biggest projects.

“SPOC is a company that I believe in, and I’m looking forward to helping spread the word to even more people about the industry-leading products and service they offer.”
